The Creature

Creature of night,
Creature of fright,
Creature of beauty,
Taker of life.
Hiding in the darkest of shadows,
Fangs dripping with sweet, sweet venom,
Ready to leap,
Taking out your next victim.
Heartless murdered,
Cold killer,
Calculated movements,
For an unexpected death.
They never saw it coming,
Never even felt your breath.
Hunting every single night,
Humans never detect you,
With their poor sight,
It's pathetic, it's true.
Every single day,
A home awakens to one less.
You're skilled at hiding bodies,
Leaving absolutely no mess.
So the family just assumes,
That your victim only left,
As you smile from your coffin,
With their blood on your breath.

Just Pray About It

You pray to God,
Ask him what to say,
Before you go to your big meeting today.
As you whisper to the wind,
You are silent and still,
So you can hear the voice in your head,
Give you advice again and again.
You hear it reply,
"Oh, thank you God!
That's just what I wanted to say,
Just thought I'd run it by you anyway."
You think to yourself,
"I must be a great Christian.
When I pray to God,
his words of wisdom are exactly what I've been thinking!"

Going Rogue

Hovering over her body,
Loot in hand,
Must stay stealthy,
Or the enemy will find me.
Traveling city to city,
Moving fast, quickly.
Avoiding fight and confrontation,
Yet with dagger in hand,
To always protect me.
You think you hear something,
Yet you look right through me,
It is as though I am part of your surroundings.
I have gone rogue,
I am silent,
I am invisible,
I am unforseen.
But you have suspected something,
So behind you I stand.
Yet now you are dead,
So I hover over your body,
Loot in hand.

Women's Rights

I have always been interesting in equal rights for every individual. I, myself, am a minority as far as sexuality goes. I identify as a pan-sexual as I am not attracted to people of certain genders, just the person them self. I have been in love with women before, and I am currently in a wonderful relationship with a man. I have been judged and discriminated against for this. As far as women's rights go however, I believe that women enjoy more privileges than men in many aspects of life. I have never been discriminated against because I am a woman in terms of pay or just being able to get a job. In fact, I have been offered a job as a female over a male with the same, if not more qualifications. Women are also socially allowed to do more things. Let me go further into detail as to what exactly I mean here. As a woman, I am allowed to wear makeup to change my appearance and not be deemed as any less or have any negative reproaches due to my wearing of makeup. If a man does the same thing however, he is seen as 'gay' or less masculine and is punished socially because of this. Some women state the fact that "Makeup is marketed toward women so women feel compelled to use it." I can attest to this fact. I do not feel compelled to use makeup nor did I feel any less feminine or have judgement called upon me because I did not wear makeup.
Some feminists have used arguments that have been proven scientifically false. One of these is that men get paid a significant amount higher than women for the same jobs with the same credentials. I know of at least one particular business that actually pays women more than the men because they are the minority in that one company. This was a hospital and the female nurses got paid more, even though the males were required to do orderly work (such as lifting patients, etc.) when there were not enough orderlies. Issues like this are what make some men resentful of women. We get special treatment, at least all of these things are the case in the United States. It is as if these feminists and women's activists aren't actually fighting for equality, yet they are fighting for special treatment. I am all for fighting for equality, but we are beating a dead horse here by fighting for something that is no longer an issue.

I look forward to reading responses discussing why you agree or disagree. I am curious as to what other people's opinions on the matter are.

I Don't Have A Care in the World

You judge me,
You hurt me
You expect me to fail,
But I don't have a care in the world.

You push me,
You punch me,
You expect me to fall,
But I don't have a care in the world.

You criticize,
You laugh and tell lies,
You expect me to cry,
But I don't have a care in the world.

You think I am weak,
I know I am strong,
You put me down and tell me I'm wrong,
But I don't have a care in the world.

Survive Equals Thrive

I shall live until I'm dead.
I will never stop,
And just stay in bed.

Too much to explore.

Why go day by day,
As if living were a chore?

Too many opportunities to be happy.

I shall live by my own rules,
And be free.

I will never give up.

Until my dying day,
I'll be excited as a little pup.

For my life is too worthwhile.

So I awaken every day,
And think of my reasons to smile.

Simply because I am alive,

I am one in a million,
For I am the one who thrives!

True Strength

I am a woman.
I am not superior to you,
Yet neither am I inferior.
We are equals,
Yet some say we are not.

Using false evidence and facts,
To support your claims,
Of inequality.
This I will not stand for,
Because the truth will set you free.

Scholarships for me,
Because I am a minority?
I think not,
As this only fulfills the stereotype.

Maybe fifty years ago,
This was truly the case,
But now being owed because of
How people treated your gender,
Is on par with calling foul because of race.

Women are not oppressed,
We are put on a pedestal,
And men are to worship is.
Is that the message we want sent?
NO!

I am not strong because I am a woman.
I am strong because I stand up for my beliefs.
I am strong because I love without holding back.
I am strong because I stand for true equality.
I am strong because I am human,
If you are strong, stand with me,
Not behind me.
